    Blackland Income Growth

    Membership Information

    B.I.G. is an open organization and as such, cordially invites and welcomes the full support of all persons having a personal interest in the general well being of the agricultural and agri-business economy of the area.  Educational programs conducted by B.I.G. serve people of all ages regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, religion, handicap or national origin.  An area-wide mailing list will be maintained on a current basis.  Those persons supporting B.I.G. goals and objectives should submit their names to be advised of B.I.G. area-wide activities and program efforts.

    The Board consists of:

    • I.G. officers and immediate past president (the president serves as chair of the Executive Board)
    • Standing committee chairs
    • Selected key leaders
    • Selected U.S.D.A. and other agricultural agency personnel
    • The coordinator and secretary and county Extension agents from the same counties as the B.I.G. officers and standing committee chairs/co-chairs will serve as “ex officio” members

    Scholarship Program

     

    The Blackland Income Growth awards twelve scholarships to outstanding 4-H members in Blackland counties.  There are ten $1,000 scholarships and two $1,500 scholarships that were presented at the annual B.I.G. luncheon.  The two $1,500 scholarships are awarded to an applicant planning to study agribusiness.
