Since 1993, Weldon Floyd has served as the Information Technology Specialist for Texas A&M University and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
His roles and responsibility have evolved with the Information Technology industry to now include providing IT support to Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Centers and staff located in Stephenville (District 8) and Vernon (District 3), along with IT support to 42 counties of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Districts 3, 4, 7, and 8.
Weldon not only provides IT technical support for hardware installation and set-up along with software application support; but, also provides educational programs in software applications, all areas of online applications, online safety, and workstation maintenance. Weldon offers specific youth and adult educational programs in areas of Child and Sexual Predation, Social Media Use and Safety, Bullying, and Sexting. Other educational programs outside of IT subject matter Weldon offers include Identity Theft and Community Leadership.
Weldon began his Extension career in 1988, serving as the Assistant County Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Pecos County from 1988-90, County Extension Agent for Bexar County in 1990, and as the County Extension Agent in Ward County from 1991-1993. Weldon has a BS degree in Agricultural Education and a MS in Range and Animal Science.
Weldon has been married for 31 years and he and his wife Martha reside in Graham, TX.
