Dr. Lovell´s primary assignment is Value added/agribusiness. The agribusiness focus includes all forms of business organization, including cooperatives. Dr. Lovell provides support with and follow up to educational programs and other referrals. His assistance includes one-on-one assistance to facilitate feasibility analysis and business planning with individuals and firms considering developing a new business or evaluating new product lines, expansion, etc. To maximize the return to his time, he depends upon County Extension Agents in assessing and providing their assistance to those with requests that can be addressed locally.

In support of the Extension Economics unit´s economic development efforts, Dr. Lovell contributes to development of grants and contracts as appropriate (which leverages the FTEs assigned specifically to economic development).
