| Plant Species: | Singletary Pea or Caley Pea | ||
| Causes: | Toxic amino acids in the seed cause neurological syndrome | ||
| Mode of Action: | |||
| Animal Symptoms: | Incoordination of rear legs, exaggerated stepping, reluctance to stand, and inability to rise | ||
| Conditions: | Seed pods present | ||
| Treatment: | Remove from peas as soon as symptoms appear; most animals will recover in ~ 4 week | ||
| Prevention: | Do not graze seed pods | ||
| Notes: | Most common with horses, but cattle can be susceptible | ||
